Alan was such a gentle person. A long time ago he and Joyce joined  the Kennel Club of Harare to train their giant poodles in the obedience classes. I then got to know him even better when he helped and checked the finances of our Working Trials club at each year end. Parkinsons put a stop to things and I often went to visit them and sat on their verandah for a chat. You will miss him so much Joyce and my condolences go to you.
