Working Trials Asociation of Zimbabwe held their AGM and a full committee has been elected. Various year trophies have been handed out of which the Tony Siley one was won by Glady & Urula together.

The Kennel Club of Harare held their AGM after the WTA one and all committee memers are standing again.

Zimbabwe Kennel Club, the Governing body of this country also held their AGM. More or le the same people standing.

Shows: The GSD Club of Harare held their Open Obedience show at the end of February and quite a lot of combinations participated. It was quite interesting that some people were quite perturbed by the noise some new puppies were making, as the top class C was doing their sit and down stays. Well it can be downright nerve racking when you do these exercises, but by the time you are that high, your pooches should be able to be used to all the noise around them. A few results of that day: Novice was won by Pauline, Paul came second and Ems was third.Pauline went on to A test which she won again, well done. B test was won by Sectra's Oswell and Eyrun came second, coming from Norway and taking over someone's dog is a great achievement. C test was won by Sectra, then Ursula, Gladys and Helen made up the four we have in that test.

Left   Claire: Ooops it "IS" a down stay my girl
Right Maryanne: Don't you dare to get up!

In the beginner test the one owner was so surprised that her pooch got up, having gone into the test with such confidence. Pooches are pooches, they always can think up something!

Those noisy puppies were having a 'ball' in the water trough, this is the favourite playtime with these two and does involve wet dogs, wet owners and eventually no water in the trough!

Ahhh say old girl, this is my cooling system, don't even try to shout at me.

This sets you thinking: 11 September 2002 and now 11 March 2004
~ ~ ~NOT ALL 911 HEROES ARE PEOPLE~ ~ ~

James Crane worked on the 101st of Tower 1 of the World Trade Centre. He is blind so he has a golden retriever named Daisy. After the plane hit 20 stories below, James knew that he was doomed, so he let Daisy go, out of an
act of love. She darted away into the darkened hallway. Choking on the fumes of the jet fuel and the smoke James was just waiting to die. About 30 minutes later, Daisy comes back along with James' boss, who Daisy just
happened to pick up on floor 112.

On her first run of the building, she leads James, James' boss, and about 300 more people out of the doomed building. But she wasn't through yet, she knew there were others who were trapped. So, highly against James'
wishes she ran back in the building.

On her second run, she saved 392 lives. Again she went back in. During this run, the building collapses. James hears about this and falls on his knees into tears. Against all known odds, Daisy makes it out alive, but this time she is carried by a fire-fighter. "She led us right to the people, before she got injured" the fireman explained.

Her final run saved another 273 lives. She suffered acute smoke inhalation, severe burns on all four paws, and a broken leg, but she saved 967 lives. The next week, Mayor Guiliani rewards Daisy with the Canine medal of Honour of New York. Daisy is the first civilian Canine to win such an honour.

GSDs 1.0 - and Application of Windows 2000

Dear Bill Gates,
Recently I purchased and installed GSDs 1.0. I soon noticed that this program appears to have numerous glitches. For instance, every time my computer boots up, I have to run Feed 5.3 and Water 7.1. Many times I've been in the middle of writing an important document and a window will flash telling me to run Take for Walk 2.0. This program also contained applications I did not wish to install, such as Pooper Scooper 8.5, and Shedding Fur 9.4.

Applications such as Vacation 2.7 and Free Time 10.1 can no longer run, crashing whenever selected. Possibly the worst is that GSDs 1.0 has attached itself to programs like Finance Manager and MS Money, with folders added such as "Entry Fees" and "Puppy Toys" and "Training Stuff". Periodically, I'll get a reminder telling me to send a check to the manufacturer of GSDs 1.0 for the aforementioned items.

I have tried to uninstall GSDs 1.0 numerous times but when I try to run the uninstall program, I get warning messages telling me that a deadly virus known as "Protection Dog" will infect my system.
Please Help!!!!!

THE REPLY:

Dear User,
Your complaint is not unusual. A common misconception among users is that GSDs 1.0 is a mere "utilities and entertainment program." It is not- it is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its' creator to run everything! A warning will soon be imprinted on the box. Since you have already installed GSDs 1.0, here are a few tips on how to make it run better. If you are annoyed by the applications Feed 5.3 and Water 7.1, you may run C:\HIRE HELP, however this will cause another folder to be added to financial applications, labelled "Staff". Failure to send payment to "Staff" will result in Feed 5.3 and Water 7.1 being run again on startup.

A note of caution: NOT booting up your computer for several days isn't the solution to avoiding Feed 5.3 and Water 7.1. You will find that, when you boot up your computer again, a nasty virus called "Barking and Digging 4.2" will have attached itself to important documents and the only way to rid your computer of "Barking and Digging 4.2" is by purchasing and installing "Dog Psychologist 10.1", which we admit is extremely expensive but crucial. Otherwise, "Barking and Digging 4.2" will cause irreversible damage to the operating system. Finally, it is important that you run C:\Milk Bones and C:\Tummy Rubs on a fairly regular basis to keep the application running smoothly. If you have any more questions, please call our toll free number.
Sincerely, Tech Support

Many thanks for this article and my apologies for not giving you the creator of this article as I do not know, but it is very cleverly written [Ed].
