Dates to remember: Coming up is our Working Trials weekend on 3 & 4 August. We think we will have 4 tracking dogs and hope to have about 5 or more dogs in CD. Our judges will be Roy Ellis on Saturday and Kirstin Tshuma on Sunday. This will be our last working trials show of the year. Do come and see us working and find out the venue from Ursula or Ilse, just off Quorn ave. Go and shop at Spar and then turn into our venue at the end of Welch road. We have planned one more Dog jumping show, which will be beginning of November. So come and train for it. Most dogs love the jumping.
Welcome to new members: No new members and soon we will be at the end of the year again and hope to see more people coming to our training sessions which are still on Thursday afternoon from 3.30 to just about 5 in the afternoon.
Tribute: An E-mail was mailed to me with a Tribute and service for Peter and Rosemary Dryden held in England on the 22nd of June. Most of their Children and grandchildren were present in the Chapel at Ashby. PLACEMENT HELP ASAP Please help! After two long years of being on a waiting list for an exotic rare breed dog, we were finally notified by the breeder that at long last, our number has come up, and... WE'RE HAVING A PUPPY! We must IMMEDIATELY get rid of our children now, because we just KNOW how time consuming our new little puppy is going to be! Since our puppy will be arriving on Monday, we MUST place the children in new homes this weekend!!! They are described as: One male, white, blonde hair, blue eyes. Four years old. Excellent disposition. He doesn't bite. Name is Tommy. Temperament tested. Current on all shots. Tonsils removed already and very healthy condition! Tommy eats everything, is very clean, house trained and gets along well with others. Does not run with scissors and with a little time and training, he will do well in a new home. One female, strawberry blonde hair, green eyes. Three years old. Can be surly at times. Non-biter, thumb sucker. Her name is Mary. Temperament tested, but needs a little attitude adjusting occasionally. She is current on all shots, tonsils out, and is very healthy and happy (mostly.) Gets along well with little boys, but does not like to share toys. She is house trained, and would do best in a one child household. We really LOVE our children, and want to do what is best for them. I hope you understand that ours is a UNIQUE situation and we have a real emergency here! They MUST be placed by Sunday night at the latest. I hear that in Tennessee there are bins where you can leave off strays... does anyone know if there is something like that around here for children? Interesting quote from an interesting source: "Training that is too severe and loveless causes agony to the soul of the dog. His possibilities will not unfold, because his trust in his trainer is lacking. Sound training keeps itself within its bounds, producing joy in work." -- von Stephanitz. A man was in his front yard mowing grass when his attractive blonde female neighbour came out of the house, went straight to the mailbox. She opened it, then slammed it shut and stormed back into the house. A little later, she went to the mailbox and again opened it, slammed it shut again. Angrily, back into the house she went. As the man was getting ready to edge the lawn, she came out again, marched to the mailbox, opened it and then slammed it closed, harder than ever. Puzzled by her actions, the man asked, "Is something wrong?" To which she replied, "There certainly is!".... My stupid computer keeps saying, "YOU'VE GOT MAIL."
I suggest you do have mail but check with your PC and not the box outside. Regular checking of E-mail does help to get up-to-date.
